Back to Work after baby – Support Group

The decision about going back to work or staying at home after having a baby is crucial.  Its implications on the life of a family mark an essential pivoting point.

There are two phases in the issue of returning to work or staying home, making the decision of what is right for your family, and how to transition smoothly once you have made the decision to re-join the workforce.

To support parents in each one of these phases the group consists of six sessions focusing on the decision (How do I know?) and the transition (Now what?). Financial concerns, role transitions, and child care issues are a few of the topics to be discussed that will help parents to reach an informed decision based on their own unique situation. When the decision has been made, then the final phase of the group will focus on adjusting to the new roles and new routines, strategies for a successful transition, feelings of guilt, workplace issues and work-life balance. At this group, babies 6 months and younger are welcome.

  Mid-life Adjustments – Support Group

What defines “mid-life adjustments”? Many issues emerge at mid-life, sometimes all at once: menopause, empty nest, early or forced retirement, elderly parents and health concerns. This can result in loss of identity, shifting roles and a questioning of life purpose. Our support group will explore these middle age stressors, offer help to sort out and plan for a positive move into the “senior years”.
